THE PROCESS OF REUSING

In order to successfully and sympathetically reuse a building, the structure and its context must first be analysed and understood. When a building's unique identity is appreciated it can offer significant conceptual opportunities for the strategy and approach of its reuse. The most successful reuse projects are derived from when a deep understanding of the existing aspects and qualities are combined with sympathetic remodelling (Brooker, 2004, p20).

The following sections document the process of reusing a building.
